The evaluation by students of teaching is one of the basic means of gaining feedback from students of Charles University and is thus one of the pillars of the quality assurance of all degree programmes and courses realised at CU. The realisation of this process, including the assessment of the results of the evaluation, as well as the reflection of the outputs in the realisation of degree programmes in the form of specific measures and changes is given the appropriate attention by both the management of the University and the management of the faculties and other bodies of the University or faculties (academic senates, dean's offices, the Rector's Board, the Internal Evaluation Board, and others). The basic attributes and means of student evaluation of teaching are laid out in the Code of Rules for the Evaluation of Education by Students and Graduates of Charles Uni-versity and Rector's Measure no. 56/2017, Structure of the report on the evaluation of education by students and graduates of Charles University.
Every year the CU Rector's Office prepares an overall Report on the Student Evaluation of Teaching, which is discussed by the Rector's Board, the Rector's Advisory Board, the CU Academic Senate and the CU Internal Evaluation Board.
The continual methodological and technical development of the student evaluation of teaching process is aided by the Working Group for the Student Evaluation of Teaching, which is coordinated by the Vice-rector for the Quality of Education and Accreditation, and which incorporates both student and academic representatives from a broad spectrum of CU faculties. It strives to increase awareness of the importance and impact of the student evaluation of teaching in the academic community through regular round table discussions, which occur at least once every semester and also serve as a platform for a broad discussion and the sharing of best practice.
